Why seal?
Unsealed concrete soaks up water like a sponge. In Edmonton that water freezes and thaws dozens of times a winter, and each time it expands a little more. Road salt tracked in on tires speeds things up. The result is pitting, flaking (spalling) and cracks that get worse every year.

How it works
Our Hotsy truck heats water up to 200°F. Hot water breaks down oil, grease and salt residue that cold water just pushes around. A surface cleaner gives an even finish with no wand stripes. Clean, open concrete lets the sealer bond properly.
Once the concrete is dry, we roll and spray on a Canadian-made, solvent-based sealer in even coats. It soaks into the surface and cures into a clear, tough barrier against water, salt and oil.
You can walk on it after about 4 hours. Keep vehicles off for 24–48 hours. We send you a text with care instructions and check in later to make sure it's holding up.

No. Our truck carries 1,000 litres of water and its own generator. We won't use your outdoor tap or plug into anything, and you don't need to be home.
You can walk on it after about 4 hours. Keep vehicles off for 24–48 hours so the sealer can cure fully. We'll text you a reminder.
Typically 2–3 years on a driveway, depending on traffic, sun and how much salt it sees. We'll check in and let you know when it's time for a maintenance coat.
Sealer needs dry concrete and temperatures above about 10°C for a day or two. In Edmonton that usually means May through early October. We can still pressure wash in cooler weather. If it's too cold to seal, we'll book you in for the first warm stretch in spring.
We apply thin, even coats so it doesn't build up a slick film. On steps and walkways we can mix in an anti-slip additive at no extra charge.
Sealing helps stop small cracks and surface damage from spreading, but it won't close existing cracks. We'll point out anything that needs a concrete contractor before we start.
